Epic Central

EpicCentral is an entertainment and recreation development owned by the city of Grand Prairie. This 172-acre park is made up of The Epic - a recreational center, Epic Waters - an Indoor water park, The Summit, and Grand Prairie’s Public Safety Building.

The Epic

The Epic is recreation reimagined with amenities that are different than your average recreation center, showcasing 120,000 square foot of year-round recreational fun.

Infinity sound and Optec Display built the 23ft high by 42ft wide 10mm intelligent M2 Led display to help welcome guests. This video solution helps bring visual elements to events and advertising for EpicCentral as well as provide guests with a compelling entrance experience.

The recreation center is 14,000 square feet which including cross training equipment and an adventure incline track. Infinity outfitted this area with 20+ Samsung TV’s for digital signage along with Atlas 4” pendant speakers throughout the entire building. In the gyms, Community Point Source 800 speakers were installed to provide a wide and dynamic sound for events and patrons.

In addition to the athletic and fitness areas of The Epic. This building also features an on-site recording studio and theater. The in-house studio is made up of a hybrid workflow of an analog 8-channel Neve 5088 and a combination of digital technology to achieve a professional level recording environment for film and video.

The Epic’s Theater is an intimate “listening-room” styled space that will play host to concerts, live performances, comedians, and movie screenings.

This powerful sound system is made up of QSC AD-S6T front fills along with QSC AD-S8T hung from the ceiling. The mains are made up of 2 (4) stacked QSC KLA12 and (2) QSC KLA181 sub woofers on either side of the stage. The Vimtek DU9000 projector was used for video projection in combination with a 15ft projection screen.


Epic Waters Indoor Water Park

This 80,000 square-foot indoor-outdoor water park, covered by a UV-protected retractable roof, will be open year-round. Climate control technology will keep the water and indoor temperature at 85 degrees. The park includes a 600-foot lazy river with periodic wave surges to simulate a real river, a FlowRider surfing simulator, and an area for children called Rascal's Roundup.

Using Samsung TVs, digital signage was provided throughout the water park, along with Atlas FAP62T ceiling speakers to give even sound in the park. At the FlowRider machine, Infinity Installed (8) Vari-lite waterproof SL Punchlite 220 wash lights to help give an even wash and more effect lighting in the area.
