The Epic is a 128,000-square-foot recreation center. It’s part of the $94 million expansion at Epic Central, an entertainment and recreation development owned by the city of Grand Prairie.
“Grand Prairie is a world-class community and we felt we deserved a world-class amenity. But this facility isn’t just for citizens of Grand Prairie. We want the whole North Texas region to enjoy it.” said Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen.
The campus includes a 14,000 square foot fitness center, including $1 million in cardio and strength equipment, Indoor and outdoor functional fitness training, Group fitness and Spin studios. As well as 4 different gymnasiums.
The on-site recording and digital media studio is made up of a hybrid workflow of analog and digital technology. For film and video, multimedia editing bays throughout are equipped with Final Cut Pro, Logic X, and MIDI keyboards. As well a “listening style” theater space equip to host concerts, plays, live performances, and movie screenings.
80,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor water park -- owned by, well, the people of Grand Prairie. The water park, covered by a UV-protected retractable roof, will be open year-round.
