SPRING CLEANING Tips
to keep your performance space running safely and smoothly.
1) Verify that all Audio, Video, and Lighting cables are functional, not damaged or frayed.
2) Inspect and replace projector lamps, clean filters, and remove dust.
3) Schedule rigging inspection by an ETCP Certified Technician
a. Counterweight fly system inspection and servicing.
b. Stage curtain inspections.
c. Inspection of the tension grid.
d. Inspect and verify all electric battens are in good working order, and the emergency
stop is working.
4) Redirect and adjust batten and catwalk lighting, ensuring every light is pointed in the
proper location.
5) Check for dust on lighting fixtures. Dust can reduce the shelf-life of lamps and reduce
a light’s performance.
6) Schedule general safety awareness training and overview for all staff and performers.
7) Check for software updates for Audio, Video, Lighting and Rigging control systems.
