Project Spotlight

EAGLE MOUNTAIN SAGINAW HIGH SCHOOL

At Infinity Sound, we’re passionate about creating impactful experiences through audio, video, and lighting systems that transform spaces. We recently had the incredible opportunity to contribute to a major project at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw High School, a facility that has been designed to resemble the layout and quality of a college campus. It was an honor to be a part of such a visionary development that’s redefining the standard for high school environments.

Our team was tasked with delivering customized audio, video, and lighting solutions throughout key areas of the school, including the stadium, ball fields, auditorium, and video production systems. These spaces will not only support day-to-day school activities but also provide the flexibility and quality needed for major events, performances, and broadcasts.

Stadium & Ball Fields:

The stadium and ball fields at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw High School are vital hubs for school and community events. We equipped these areas with high-performance AV systems designed to provide clear, powerful sound and vibrant visuals to create an immersive experience. Whether it's a football game under the lights or a school-wide rally, the clarity and impact of these systems will elevate the energy and excitement of every event. With weather-resistant technology and durable infrastructure, these systems are built to withstand outdoor conditions while delivering consistent performance year-round.

Auditorium A/V Systems:

For the auditorium, our goal was to design and implement a fully integrated audio-visual system that would bring performances and presentations to life. Whether students are performing in a play, attending a lecture, or watching a school-wide assembly, the cutting-edge AV system ensures that every seat in the house experiences top-tier sound and visuals. The system was carefully tailored to meet the acoustics of the room, with precision in sound distribution to ensure even coverage. Visual components, such as projectors and screens, were chosen to offer sharp image quality for any presentation or video playback.

Video Production Systems & Broadcast Cabling:

In today’s digital world, video production and broadcasting are essential for schools, especially for institutions like Eagle Mountain-Saginaw High School that aim to foster a modern, tech-savvy environment. Infinity Sound installed advanced video production systems that allow the school to capture and stream events with professional-grade quality. Whether it's live-streaming sports events, recording performances, or broadcasting special announcements, the system provides seamless content creation capabilities. We also laid comprehensive broadcast cabling throughout the campus, ensuring reliable connections for both live and pre-recorded video production. This infrastructure ensures that the school's media and communications programs have the tools they need to thrive.

Enhancing Learning & Community Engagement:

Projects like this are more than just about installing equipment – they’re about creating an environment that fosters learning, creativity, and community. With modern AV systems in place, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw High School now has the infrastructure to support everything from daily classes and presentations to large-scale productions and live-streamed events. The technology we implemented will enhance students' educational experiences, allowing them to engage with content in new and exciting ways.

We are incredibly proud of the work we've done at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw High School. Our team worked closely with school administrators and other contractors to ensure that every solution was custom-designed to meet the school's specific needs. From concept to installation, it was a collaborative effort to create an AV environment that will benefit the students and staff for years to come.

At Infinity Sound, we thrive on the opportunity to help schools, businesses, and organizations achieve their vision through the power of audio, video, and lighting. This project is just one example of our commitment to excellence and our passion for innovation. We look forward to more opportunities to create spaces that inspire and empower people through technology.

Frisco Public Library

Project Spotlight: Frisco Public library

The Frisco Library’s transformation is truly something special. Moving from a 50,000-square-foot space to a sprawling 158,000-square-foot facility, it has gone from a typical library to a cutting-edge community hub. The new location, inside a former rocket factory, is more than just bigger—it’s a complete reimagining of what a library can be for its community.

One of the most eye-catching features is the 22-foot-tall "Colossal Robotic Arm." It’s not just for show; it represents the library’s commitment to blending technology with learning. This massive piece of machinery is a symbol of the innovative approach the Frisco Library has taken, making it stand out as a leader in modern public libraries.

The library’s makerspaces are another game-changer. With tools like 3D printers and laser cutters, these spaces are designed for hands-on creativity. Whether you’re a student, hobbyist, or entrepreneur, the makerspaces offer the tools and resources to turn your ideas into reality.

Beyond technology, the library has also expanded its collection significantly. With more books, media, and digital resources, there’s something for everyone. The increased space means a wider variety of materials is available, catering to all sorts of interests and needs. Whether you're looking for a new book to dive into, doing research, or exploring digital media, you’ll find plenty to choose from.

The design of the new Frisco Library is just as impressive as its features. The space is modern, open, and full of natural light, making it a welcoming place to spend time. But it’s not just about looks—the design is highly functional, with spaces that can be easily adapted for different uses. Whether it’s a quiet study session, a community event, or a collaborative project, the library’s versatile spaces can handle it all.

Community engagement is at the heart of the new library. It’s designed to be a place where people come together, whether for events, workshops, or just to hang out. With dedicated spaces for all kinds of activities, the library fosters a strong sense of community. It’s a place where you can connect with others, learn something new, and be a part of the vibrant local scene.

The library’s audio systems are top-notch, too. Infinity has installed high-quality speakers, microphones, and cameras, ensuring that events are heard and seen clearly. Whether it’s a small workshop or a larger gathering, the library is equipped to make sure everything runs smoothly and sounds great.

Introducing the Jabra Videobar

If your small or medium-sized meeting room needs professional sound and visuals comparable to a video production crew—without the crew, of course—take a serious look at the Jabra PanaCast 50 videobar. It has an extensive feature set coupled with performance that can bring your next videoconference up to 21st century standards.

First, let's talk about the tech. The PanaCast 50 features three, 13-megapixel CMOS cameras with real-time switching in up to 4K30 and 6x digital zoom. Its integrated Virtual Director uses speaker tracking technology to keep the video focused on who is currently speaking.

Meanwhile, eight beamforming microphones and voice detection technology capture the sound, which is played back through four stereo speakers (two 50mm woofers and two 20mm tweeters). Residual echo is identified and removed so only the sound that’s needed is heard. Even if everyone is speaking at the same time, each distinct voice will be heard, which makes this ideal for active meetings and/or my next holiday gathering.

Three AV Trends for 2024

As the pandemic fades into the background, the commercial integration industry is thriving, exceeding expectations and reaching the same impressive revenues as 2022. This year's installations are different, and 2024 is set to see a boom in demand for specific solutions. One big trend is the rising importance of audio in office spaces, driven by the shift back to in-person work and the desire for better sound environments. Another key trend is the widespread use of USB-C, which simplifies connectivity and is gaining traction thanks to Apple's recent switch, prompted by EU regulations. Finally, the drop in fiber cabling costs is making it more accessible, creating new opportunities for large projects that need high data transmission and top-notch security.

Immersive Audio Increasing in Popularity

Immersive audio has been around for some time, but its popularity is growing within the professional AV community. Immersive audio also commonly known as spatial sound and 3D sound. Post-Covid, immersive audio has become more popular due to the fact that it allows social distancing since a group does not have to crowd to one side of the room to hear the audio.

Important Figures in AV: Vladimir Zworykin

Vladimir Kosma Zworykin (1888/1889[a] – July 29, 1982) was a Russian-American inventor and engineer who pioneered television technology. He developed a television transmitting and receiving system using cathode ray tubes. Zworykin significantly contributed to the practical development of television from the early 1930s, including innovations such as charge storage-type tubes, infrared image tubes, and the electron microscope.

Priorities in Order

If you were to ask anyone about hazardous professions, they might mention police officers, roofers, or North Sea fishermen. However, it's uncommon for them to consider show business as posing significant risks.

Unfortunately, many stagehands and technicians sustain serious injuries annually while working on productions. What's even more disheartening is that a significant portion of these accidents could have been prevented by adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective gear. As shows resume and many of us return to work on gigs, it's crucial to pause and address safety concerns.
